The Parrot Teleprompter can be purchased with an adapter, but sometimes you need an extra adapter to ensure compatability with a second lens or camera. The Parrot Teleprompter will come with either a 58mm or a 77mm base mount. If you order a 37mm, 40.5mm, or a 46mm adapter you will need a 58mm base mount. All other sizes require the 77mm base mount. Be sure to order a base mount if the adapter calls for it.
All the adapters are step up adapters except the 82mm adapter which is a step down adapter. The 82 mm also interferes with the teleprompter mount so it must be loosened enough for the base adapter to slide into the teleprompter.
There are many numbers on a camera lens. You may find the focal length which is shown as a number with mm for example: 55mm. It may also be a range for example: 55-200mm. Do not confuse this number with the filter size that we are looking for. (This is usually NOT the size of adapter you need.)
You might also notice a number written on your lens that looks like a ratio. For example 1: 4 - 5.6 (You don't need this number either.)
If you cannot find this number, or if you are still unsure there are other ways to determine the thread size of you lens. The thread size is the diameter of the threads (distance across) on the front of a lens. The size is often printed on the back side of a lens cap. Your owner’s manual will list these specifications. You can also measure the diameter with a metric ruler to find the thread size.
99% of the time it will be one of the values that I have listed as available adapter sizes. If you do not see your size there, then you are probably looking at the wrong number. It should be: 37mm, 40.5mm, 46mm, 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, or 82mm.
